Do you have a favorite statuary item that you would like to convert into a more functional creative item? Look no further!
SUPPLIES:
- Ceramic, metal or glass statuary
- Old functional lamp or a new light kit
- Thrift or new lamp shade
INSTRUCTIONS:
Select a statuary that you would like to convert to a lamp. Then find an old lamp that you may have laying around or at a nearby thrift store. You can also sometimes find electrical lamp fixtures at a craft or hardware store. Next, select a lampshade. If you have one that you would like to update, you can always recover the lampshade with some new fabric, paper, or canvas. Once you have selected all your lamp elements it’s time to put the project together!
Some electrical light components are applied with glue others screw in. A flat bottomed light fixture would be easiest to apply. If your kits is a drill connection, please make sure you have the correct drill bit when making a hole into your statuary and if your statuary is a one-of-a kind the glue on method is recommended.
If you would like to recover your lampshade, first remove the existing fabric. Next, apply your new fabric or designer paper to the lampshade frame. Use either fabric glue (for fabric) or rubber cement (for paper) to secure material to lampshade frame.
